# Coral-Suture

A field notebook for a removable mineral settlement tile: millimetre-scale texture for coral larvae, enough refuge for early growth, and a clear retrieval plan for divers.

The design only matters if it beats a flat tile without trapping sediment, spreading harmful biology, or turning into permanent reef debris.

## Current status

- **Starting point:** surface texture, near-surface flow, settlement cues, and handling methods can affect recruitment.
- **Proposed combination:** put those factors into one tagged, retrievable mineral module.
- **Likely failure:** species, sites, fouling, disease, storms, and timescales refuse to behave consistently.
- **Evidence today:** literature review and tile design only; nothing has been built or put in the water.
